Curious

Someone has searched and found my blog using the phrase "Toenail Beer Soak".

This is quite intriguing, seeing as how I am currently experiencing yet another ingrown toenail. I'm not looking forward to the 'surgery' I will be conducting tonight.

But I wonder, am I suppoed to soak my foot in beer, and then resect it? Or am I supposed to soak MYSELF by drinking beer, and THEN resect it?

I wish the people doing these searches would be more specific so I can know what it is I'm supposed to be doing.

I've decided to OPT OUT of the beer soak, and have already begun the soaking, substituting FROZEN MARGARITA'S instead. Let the surgery begin!! *hic**

You're supposed to go to the podiatrist and have your toenail surgically cut at the root so it doesn't happen again. I don't miss that pain one bit.

That beer soak is probably some crazy sex thing youngsters are doing these days.

How do you know that? See? "Toenail Beer Soak" didn't mention one damn thing about a podiatrist...

oh, and "toenail surgically cut at the root" doesn't make me want to run to the doctor either....

norm, seriously - you really DO need to go to the podiatrist and likely have minor surgery on that toe of yours. my husband (a paramedic) also had one and tried to "fix" it himself, and it got horribly infected very deep in the tissue. if it's not "dug out" properly (and you'll probably need stitches, as my husband did) it will prolly keep coming back. for serious. sorry!!!!

well... wait - would I have to wear a little foot bootie after any toe surgery? Cause then I might do it so that I can have people go "awwww - poor normy, she got hurt!!" LOL

The only thing that hurts about the surgery is the numbing, and that's not THAT bad. And once it's done, you don't have to worry about it ever again. Plus, it's easier to paint your nails because it's not going down into the sides of your toe. Just go. You'll be glad you did in the end.

And I don't remember if you get to wear a little bootie, but I DO remember you get to soak your foot in this AWESOME foot bath.

They're NOT going to yank out your whole nail. They'll cut the side(s) of it down to the root so it's shorter in width. You can't even see the difference after it's done.
