HELP ME!
I need a new hairstyle. I'm bored with what I got. A few months back, I thought I'd change the color, now I'm sick of that too. I ... need...a....change.

However, I'm really good at recognizing that I'm so very not female when it comes to determining what hairstyle would look good on me.

Can you help? I've posted a front shot of my current (boring) hair, along with a back shot. It's all one length, and yeah - I'm open to color suggestions as well. I need to retouch the roots (which are about 3 inches long now).

Keep in mind -- I'm not good at STYLING hair either, so it can't be something complicated (Mohawks are NOT an option!)

Give me a cyber makeover!!! Post your suggestions please! I'm dead serious! AND... if you are talking about a hairstyle that you've seen on the 'nets somewhere...kindly post the link so I can check it out myself!

Norman!

(by the way --- I waxed my eyebrows myself again. I have to keep my head tilted now to keep them even, otherwise I look all quizzical and shit... OOOPSIE!!!!)

****Geez, I'm famous for editing posts!!! Just thought I'd let ya know that I just videoed my very favorite Christmas decoration in the wholewideworld. When my husband gets it off the camera, I'll upload it!! (IT'S AWESOME!)

Norman, you are SO pretty! Wow.

Ok, I'd cut it to right about shoulder length, dye it darker (just a little, a nice mahogany), cut lots of long layers, no bangs. Wear it parted on the side.

It looks nice, but probably just needs to be trimmed a little and colored. Nothing major.

We look oddly alike. I might have to send you a picture of myself. I swear, we could be related. The handwriting and now this.

Have you tried the online "Try It On" studio by Clairol?

You upload your photo and then you play with hair color and styles and you can see yourself with all the different versions. Beware.. it's addicting. LOL.

I vote for red. You seem to have a bit of red to your complexion, but maybe it's just the photo.

Not fire-engine red, I mean, like a subtle red-brown-auburn kind of red.

Cut it to maybe shoulder-length, or a bit above.

But then, I'm a guy who knows two different women who died their hair purple. And I colored the tips of my buzzcut blue once on a dare, basically.

so maybe I'm not the one to advise.

I actually like your hair and the color.

But if you want something different, I'm a fan of highlights. Nothing too crazy but will compliment your current natural color. I always have the professionals do it though, I do not try this myself.

Maybe some long layers? How about 3 or 4 inches shorter?

I'd say do a part with an angle cut (whispie layers) towards the face and long layers in the back. And if you want to do color... What I've done is two tone it with one color on top and the other underneith and i love it! Good luck!

I like it just the way it is, maybe a few wispy bangs. Not the straight across bangs but just a few thin strands to take some of the glare of the forehead.

    You are beautiful!

I know you'll look beautiful no matter what you do. I just want to run my fingers through it, regardless.

MomyblogR - yeahhhh riiiight!!! I've seen your pic!! You spend TIME on that hair!! And you do a very nice job of it too, cutie!!

Aka_Merritt - I just tried to do it, and it's not working for me!! I feel so DEPRIVED!!! (or should that be depraved?)

Ace - Blue hair can be cool.. not for me, but I like some "color-y" hair that I've seen....

Teri - Well - thanks!!! I guess I'm just tired with the same old same old... I did highlights last time, red & blonde. It was awfully subtle. The majority of the people on here seem to think shoulder length would be kewl.....

Spicy - Angle cut, eh? Wispy Layers?? hmmmmm.... OH!! So you got the "BERLIN" color?? (blonde on top with black bottom??!!) cool!!!!

Livey - my forehead is GLARING?! LOL!!! Thx chickie!!! You're a sweetie!

Freak Magnet - YOU ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!! roflmao!!!

Stacie - thanks!!! (blushing now) my hubby photoshopped me into his dream chick!!

*** I'm sorry it wasn't working for you. Here I came back to check comments just to see how much you LOVED it. ***

I actually played around on there the other night for about 3 hours and entertained 11 different hairstyles for me. (and 3 for dh). LOL. He came home and I asked which one he liked best... he picked the one that basically it already looks like! :)

I thought about getting red highlights in my hair. And not mahogany - fire engine red. You know, so it looks like I did the entire fire department. Which wouldn't surprise anyone.

Ask your stylist for some chunkier highlights. I would go for a more blonde look and as for cut, ask for reverse layers. My stylist basicly took her scissors and ran them through my hair like she would wrapping paper. It is still long but layered and VERY easy to take care of!
